  EV Experts put up an advert on Autotrader over a weekend. This ad had no images as the vehicle was not ready yet but based on the description, I put in a reservation immediately on a Sunday. The following day, I got an email from Martin (the Co-founder) acknowledging my reservation and telling me about their finance and part exchange options. I originally intended to pay cash as I did not think an EV seller would do part exchange for a non EV car. He finally sent me a video of the car on Friday and I sent him images of my own car for part exchange with detailed description of the faults on the same day. I even said I will make my way over the following morning if we can agree on a valuation but he told me to wait till the following morning so he can get the best price for it. I got no response the following morning so I called him in the afternoon only for him to apologise and tell me someone else has put down a deposit on the car. He did offer to source another one for me (a lower trim in a different colour) but I declined. I found the experience disappointing, unprofessional and a breach of trust. He didn’t even have the decency to inform me and only told me when I called to follow-up. What is the point of making a reservation then if it won’t be honoured?

  I am so sorry that the car was bought by someone else before you were able to make the journey to us. It was sold to someone who had enquired on the same day as you (in fact we had 4 enquiries on that day for that car as it is a rare spec and colour). Buying a used car 300 miles away isn't straightforward and providing a firm price for a part exchange which you acknowledged had faults, from photos creates uncertainty for both buyer and trader. The Autotrader reservation system is frustrating because it doesn't take the buyer or trader's circumstances into account. It is imposed on us but neither trader nor potential buyer get any benefit from it. We try very hard not to disappoint but in this instance we were not able to make a transaction work. We are truly sorry that you were disappointed and have taken your feedback to heart to change the way we operate and communicate for future enquiries from out of town. We hope you are able to find an alternative car really soon.

  Bought our first electric car through EV Experts, Martin is really knowledgeable and took time to understand our requirements before recommending a few options we hadn't considered. After buying we found an issue with the car infotainment system requiring a replacement part, this was resolved without too much fuss. After six months we're still really pleased and have recommended to our family and friends.

  Won't sell Teslas for some strange virtue signalling reason, and lies about them having problems like "the door handles falling off" or the "door cards falling out". Utter nonsense.

  As an independent specialist we only stock EVs that we are confident will give our customers a great experience. We have decided for a number of reasons to not stock Tesla at this time. There is now a lot of choice in the used EV market and our stock reflects that. We regard your accusation that we lie as libellous although we can see from your reviews of other companies that generally this is how you choose to interact. It really is unpleasant and unnecessary.

  Very knowledgeable staff and great service. Good variety of cars and they still know them inside out. Much better than many of main dealers I went to see. Highly recommend.

  Electric cars are well worth investing in now, and EV Experts are the best people to consult with. When we were looking to change our electric car, we found EV Experts and, noting the glowing reviews, we phoned up and spoke with the co-owner, Estelle, who is a cheerful, positive, upbeat and helpful person. She is very knowledgeable about electric cars, and we would certainly agree that she is an expert in this field! Having discussed several options, we ventured out on a rainy afternoon to Guildford! Estelle and Martin greeted us with great energy, welcome and kindness. We decided to test-drive a Polestar 2, which they had recommended for our needs and budget. When we got in the car with Martin, it quickly became clear that this was the car for us. Martin is kind and careful, and when you leave the site for the first time, he negotiates the task of exiting onto the busy A3 bypass, so there is no cause for worry. When we got back to their showroom, both Estelle and Martin went above and beyond expectations in enabling us to put together the best possible financial options for exchanging our previous car and purchasing the new one. If they had not had the right car in stock, they are also happy to look for and source a vehicle that is absolutely right for you. Having bought our Polestar 2 from EV Experts, we feel that we have the best car we have ever owned. Just one of the great features is that in the winter, you can tell the car via the app when you are leaving, and it defrosts itself and warms up the interior. No more scraping windscreens or shivering in the car! In short, we totally agree with all the other reviews that confirm: EV Experts are the best in business!
