  Giles did an outstanding job installing four outside lights for us. His workmanship was excellent, he worked efficiently, and the final result looks brilliant. He was professional, tidy, and clearly takes pride in what he does. I’d happily recommend him to anyone looking for quality electrical work !

  Giles and his son Max recently put up 3 exterior lights and a security light for me. I am extremely happy with the quality of the work and both are lovely people, efficient and friendly. They even said hello to Blue the dog. I will certainly contact them if I need further work and definitely recommend them.

  Cannot recommend Giles enough. Not a fan of having workmen in the house but he and his son were friendly, helpful and got the job done really quickly at a time that suited me. Thank you!

  Giles has recently installed some outdoor lighting for me. He responded quickly to my initial enquiry and turned up as agreed to complete the work. He discussed the options I had and what would work the best. I certainly would recommend Giles, he was punctual, friendly, efficient and reasonably priced.

  Very happy with Giles work. Carried out a full inspection of our house wiring. Thoroughly explained all the faults found and how they could be corrected before fixing them. Punctual, pleasant, the work was carried out efficiently and was reasonably priced. I will be happy to use Giles for any future electrical work we need.

  I have recently used Giles to complete some work for me. I can honestly say he is about the best electrician i have used. Very knowledgeable and explained all the steps he was taking to complete the jobs. I wouldn't hesitate to use Giles again and would absolutely recommended him to anyone looking for an electrician.

  Giles came twice for minor jobs. He put up six wall lights, messed up the wall on the first 2, probably learnt on the job because the next 4 were ok. He made a new electric outlet for a TV, seems ok. When he said he needed to mess up the wall some more I stopped him. He later came in to set up a new TV but claimed it was the wrong kind of TV and didn't complete the job (my son later sorted it). He made an electrical inspection which seemed ok but failed to notice some things pointed out by other electricians later. AFTER I had paid him for the second visit he sent me this message:" The isolater in the bedroom heater is loose. The backbox screw broke on inspection". No attempts to fix his own mess. At the first visit charged me for 7 hours work which included his mid-morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. He seems well intended, just not very capable. I have spent weeks considering whether I should feed back or not. But honesty should prevail. Sorry.

  Thank you for your feedback, and I am grateful that Google lets me respond. I am confused you feel my work was substandard as you seemed happy with everything at the time and asked me back. I aim to please and have never had anything other than a 5 star review before. Customer communication is very important to me, so had these issues been mentioned I could have explained the following. I believe the photos you show do not illustrate your “mess up of a wall”. The power for the TV point came from the socket next to it; the cable had to be embedded in the wall, then filled, it’s unavoidable unless you surface mount the cable. The picture shows a small neat line of filler. The wall lights have very small mounting brackets, not big enough to house cables. So again, cables had to be embedded into the wall. I qualified in the 1990’s and have completed many light replacements and have not “learned” this skill just on your job. As you can appreciate every light is different, one light may look easier or harder than another. Each property is different, your property is hundreds of years old so some of the plaster was brittle and broke away when drilled. Holes are inevitable in this situation I'm afraid, but are filled. Filler is white and will need painting. I don't offer this service and I don't carry paint. The TV supplied didn’t come with mounting bolts as its’ stand was for a table bracket. The wall bracket came with bolts, but they didn’t fit your tv unless I forced them. I elected to stop before the TV mounting holes were damaged, I would have mounted it otherwise. The electrical report stipulates the removal of some accessories, a screw was previously broken and this had been highlighted on the report. I mentioned this to you and we agreed that I was to fix it as part of the remedial works when I came next. You were happy with this and responded with a thumbs up emoji. I therefore dispute the claim there was “No attempt to fix his own mess”. All trades take breaks during a working day and if it's a full day for one customer then it's common practice to include them in the day rate.
